Books, Books, Books!
Recommendations
Good afternoon everyone! January is almost over! Isn’t that crazy? A lot of you probably made reading goals for this year and with the first month coming to a close, y’all are probably starting to either finish your books or loose your motivation. So I’m here to, hopefully, give you a little boost! I’ll give you a big list of books that I really enjoyed and recommend! I’ll also give you links to said books and if you buy them through my link I get a commission, so I would greatly appreciate that!
These are not in any particular order. Now, without further ado:
Fable Haven by Brandon Mull (https://amzn.to/4qzTjVu): I can’t give you very much of a review for this one because it’s been so long since I’ve read it. I recently started reading it again because I kept having flash backs to bits and pieces of it and so I really wanted to read it again! I had to recommend it because if the book keeps giving you flashbacks, you have to know something is up.
Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson (https://amzn.to/3NRKPud): I bought these a few years ago and I LOVED them. I spent my summer in my room just reading for HOURS.I bought the mass market paperback version because it’s cheaper, but it’s still really good. If you’re looking to collect books, then probably don’t get the mass market paperback, but if you just want to read, it’s great and cheap! Here’s the summery Amazon has listed:
Mistborn:
For a thousand years, the ash has fallen and no flowers have bloomed. For a thousand years, the Skaa have slaved in misery and lived in fear. For a thousand years, the Lord Ruler has reigned with absolute power and ultimate terror. Until Kelsier, a brilliant half-Skaa thief and natural leader, finds in himself the powers of a Mistborn, and turns his talents to the ultimate caper, with the Lord Ruler himself as the mark.
The Well of Ascension:
The impossible task has been accomplished. The Lord Ruler has been vanquished. But with Kelsier dead, too, the awesome task of building a new world has been left to former street urchin and Kelsier's protégé Vin, who is now the most powerful Mistborn in the land. Vin is now worshipped as a hero in her own right, but she is haunted by a strange vaporous entity hidden in the mists.
The Hero of Ages:
Having escaped death only by becoming a Mistborn himself, Emperor Elend Venture now hopes to find clues left behind by the Lord Ruler that will allow him to save the world. But with the return of lethal mists, increasingly heavy ashfalls, and ever more powerful earthquakes, Elend and Vin aren't sure that killing the Lord Ruler to end the Final Empire was the right thing to do after all. It’s an amazing book and it is very gripping.
Earthlings by Seth Harkness (https://buy.stripe.com/bIY2c91oo33c3pCbIJ) This one is one that I wrote so I won’t give it a big spot here, but you also can only buy it from Stripe.
Maze runners by James Dashner (https://amzn.to/3LCnz2Q): I’ll be dead honest: book 1 was great, I struggled to get through the rest, but at least read book 1. The rest depends on you.
Strays by Remy Wilkins (https://amzn.to/4bCWTtd): If you buy the $444.41 hardcover let me know, I think Amazon had a typo but it’s funny. This book is an amazing Christian book that involves demons and it makes you want to stay awake at night just to get through one more chapter. It’s great for 12-16 year-olds. Highly recommend it if you have any kids or want to read it as a family. Let me know what you think of the bat and honey.
Red Queens by Victoria Aveyard (https://amzn.to/4r7dRVj): This is another one that I haven’t read in a while, but it is an amazing book. Back in the day when skin color would determine who was free and who was slaves, this one cares more about blood color. Whose is red and whose is silver. Whose nobility and whose expendable?
Kingdom Series by Chuck Black (https://amzn.to/49SEZjY): We used to listen to this series on our road trips. AMAZING Christian books with AMAZING allegories. I would highly, highly recommend this book, especially for younger boys.
The Winter King by Christine Cohan (https://amzn.to/4sPanIG): This one made me and my brothers ask if we could listen to our book instead of watch TV when we were younger. That has to tell you about all you need to know, but again, this is also a Christian book and amazing for families. But it also keeps you wondering the whole time. She does an amazing job at not giving away the story until it’s time.
The Portal Wars Saga by James E. Wisher (https://amzn.to/49IN4ax) (https://amzn.to/4sOKF6Y)(https://amzn.to/4a05hBQ)(https://amzn.to/4pKOasg)(https://amzn.to/45kwgW7)(https://amzn.to/3YMRFUg): Here’s 1-6, I think there’s more though. These ones were really good, just like most of the other books on this list. But alas, I can’t give you very much for this one either, It’s been to long since I’ve read it.
Elantris by Brandon Sanderson (https://amzn.to/3NC24Q9):This one, I couldn’t find the second book right away and it made me sad. But once I did find the second book I really enjoyed it and I was really happy. Brandon Sanderson is an AMAZING author. Highly recommend almost ANY of his books.
The Purloined Boy by C.R. Wiley, Mortimus Clay (https://amzn.to/3Ln9CWv): When I finished the first book the second book hadn’t come out yet. I was really mad at the author for a good bit because of it. But don’t worry! The next one is out. But anyways, what’s this one about? The boogey man. Just read it.
The Sinking City by Christine Cohen (https://amzn.to/49unxTL): Hadley likes this one better than the Winter King, but I prefer the Winter King, read them both and let us know which one you prefer.
Get the Girl by Douglas Wilson (https://amzn.to/3NtRJFZ): If you’re a young man ready (or almost ready) to start courting or dating, read this. It’s a really good book.
What he must be by Voddie Baucham Jr.(https://amzn.to/4bHgMPV): I got back home from visiting Hadley when I still lived in Idaho and I started listening to books on stuff like this, mostly at work. This one had my attention while I was working, that’s pretty impressive.
Thanks for reading and I hope this gives you even more to read. If you want more suggestions send me a DM or ask in the comments, ask for a specific genre or author, maybe I’ll have some more suggestions. I have some more that I didn’t put in here but they’re more mature. So if you’re okay with that, let me know and I can give you those too.

Thank you so much for the recommendations, I’m always looking for more books!!! I’ve read some of these and LOVED them (maze runner became a huge fixation for me, and I absolutely adored Sinking City).
