AI: The Truth
The hot topic of yesterday was AI: is it useful? Is it good? Is it stupid? A lot of people have their own opinions now and those opinions vary greatly between one person and another. Some people think it is absolutely amazing and other people think it is stupid. Some people couldn't care less! Well, I'm here to FINALLY give you the truth about AI...okay, actually this is just another opinion. The truth about AI is way out of my pay grade.
So, what about it? Should we use AI creatively? Or is cheating? Well, I have one question for you -- yes, only one...this is why I have trouble writing full articles, I get right to the point, what's the point in fluffing everything up with five arguments when one will do -- is taking a picture the same as drawing a picture? No! They are different forms of art. Both take different skills to do well, but they both give you an image. Same thing with AI. It is just another form of art. It is another tool. It's like the camera or the pencil. It takes different skills and yes it doesnt normally take as much skill. But it is still an art. Anyone who says other can have their own opinions, mines just right.
So, as a Christian, can I use AI? Yes! Yes you can, but you must use wisdom and not just AI. “Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth.” — 1 Corinthians 8:1 (KJV) AI does not have that wisdom for you: “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom.” — Proverbs 9:10 (KJV). So fear the Lord and use AI to build something great! But do not make an idol of it and do not decieve people when you use it saying you did not.

The problem is when the tool, morally neutral in itself, is marketed and developed as a way to preserve our innate tendencies toward laziness. Also, photography is an art precisely insofar as it forces you to appreciate the realness of things and account for them in taking a picture. With AI, it would be possible to create art, or write poetry, even if you grew up locked inside your basement.
I don't strictly disagree with anything you said per se. It's a matter of prudence either way. It's just that the stakes are a lot higher if you abuse AI than if you abuse another artistic medium.
